Come and talk to the local experts - our friendly team will help you plan and book your holiday, not only in Whangarei but anywhere in Northland or New Zealand

“Often we are the first port of call for these visitors - don’t just tell them about places they can experience, become part of that experience!”

Reana, Information Consultant

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

Aimee, Information Consultant

Whangarei has two information centres, the Whangarei i-SITE Visitor Centre and Te Manawa The Hub Information Centre. The friendly staff are local experts and will provide you with all the ‘insider intel’ about our wonderful district along with impartial information about what you can do, and where you can stay throughout the country.

Both centres offer great displays, information and maps, and are agents for TranzRail, Intercity bus services, and Interislander and Bluebridge ferry services. The booking service is free.

The i-SITE is a member of Tourism New Zealand’s Visitor Information Network (i-SITE). It is the official provider of information in Whangarei and has an extensive range of souvenirs, along with stamps, phone cards and maps.  Located at the lovely Tarewa Park, there are well-serviced bathrooms and plenty of free parking. The popular on-site cafe has great coffee, delicious food and al fresco or comfortable indoor dining.

Visit the team at Tarewa Park, 92 Otaika Road, State Highway One on the southern entrance to Whangarei city.

The Hub is conveniently located at the Town Basin, a picturesque international yacht marina and  Whangarei ‘Must Do’. Enjoy the cafes, restaurants, specialty shops, art galleries and craft shops along the waterfront.  Take a look at all of the Town Basin attractions here.
