WhangareiNZ.com is operated by the District Development team at Whangarei District Council. 

The District Development team works to shape the Whangārei district to provide its residents and visitors with social, cultural and economic benefits. 

They collaborate closely with Northland Inc to bolster Economic Development and Tourism, as well as overseeing Council’s Commercial Property portfolio. Their vision is to transform Whangārei into a dynamic hub for living, working and visiting.  

The team's efforts have contributed to positive economic growth, attributed to increasing population and investment. Initiatives like the Te Kārearea Strategic Partnership Forum, which includes local hapū representatives, mark significant progress towards their goals.
